Hi Gary,

Another nice arrangement.  Sound quality is great... what microphone/hardware/software are you using for audio recording?

Best,

John

Hi John. My setup is simple. Superlux condenser mic, Tascam DP-02CF digital recorder and Mixcraft5 software for final mix. I'm kind of looking around for a better way to record the video...

Very nice playing Gary, I enjoyed it. Nice sounding axe too, Collins guitars just keep on amazing me. If you don't mind me asking, what learning resources do you like to use?

Comment by Gary Tremel on January 2, 2012 at 3:30pm

Learning resources, hmmm. I listen to CDs with fiddle tunes. I occasionally buy an instructional DVD or book, but really, I never use them. I'm sort of a "figure it out by yourself" person. I would probably play a lot better if I took advantage of what's out there. But then, why all the pressure?

Thanks Gary for your response. You do a good job figuring them out. Have fun.

We should try to pick a few at Winfield 2012!

That would be a good time. I'll have to practice so I can keep up!

Great version of Bill Cheatham, Family circumstances forced me away from guitar for almost a year and this is the next tune I wan't to learn, Have not learned to improvise yet so is there any tab thats even close to what you played, don't want to copy you but wan't to be close. Thanks for a fine version. Mike

Sorry Mike, I have about as much of a chance of reading tab as reading Chinese! I don't  really think it's possible to play anything to Bill Cheatham that isn't good. Just take a crack at it.
