Hey Kathy,

Very nice stuff. What is your source/inspiration for this material. I like this forum because it is introducing me to new territory......

Thanks Joe! These three as a set, I got it from Paddy Keenan (Na Keen Affair). These tunes get into my head over time and at some point I feel compelled to sit down and work on them. I actually didn't remember why I wanted to hear Hunter's House (titled Reevey's on the album, fyi the name is Reavy) afterward. In fact it was hard to find; if you research Reevey's you don't get much, if you research Reavy's you get many many tunes.... someone finally told me the name of it!) but when I realized it was a Keenan set then it made sense.

Ok, that's a long answer. The short (and real) answer is, listening to lots of music. Lately (obviously) lots of Irish music.

Thanks Kathy, that is great work. I really enjoy your playing. I can't wait 'til I retire too, so I can play more. I would like to hear your take on 'Foxhunters Reel'....Cheers!

Thanks Dane. My band did that, I've only played rhythm on it. But I ought to know the melody! I'll check it out.

"My gear is much better than my skill - for straight flatpickin', I play a Martin D-18 Authentic 1937. My go-to guitar for just about everything else (and it flatpicks just fine, thank you) is my Huss & Dalton D-RH with a Red Spruce top.…"
