Favorite Flatpickers: This is hard. I'm more of a rhythm player myself, so I guess I pay more attention to that when listening to guitar players. I feel the only way to have a successful Bluegrass band is to have a great rhythm guitar player. So, I would have to say that some of my favorite guitar players are Del McCoury, Tony Rice and Dan Tyminski.

Favorite Flatpicking Tunes: I like pickin' Big Sandy River and Rebecca right now.

Favorite Guitars: 1957 D-21 Martin and 1979 HD-28 Martin

Tell us more about yourself (place a Bio here if you wish): I'm the leader and Rhythm guitar player for Acoustic Blue. I do play lead as well, but not a whole lot. I pride myself in my solid bluegrass style rhythm playing. The band is really making a name for itself and really starting to take off. I just put an hour and a half on my Osthoff and it was one fine time! That guitar REALLY wakes up after about 20 minutes or so. Man I love that guitar!

When you get to John's shop, ask him to see his new dread he's making. It should be pretty special.
