Favorite Flatpickers: White, Barenberg, Watson, Pottier, Hurst, Anderson, Grier, Sutton, I'll think of more later.

Favorite Flatpicking Tunes: At the moment it's Constitution March (open D). And more St Anne's Reel. Elzic's Farewell is still high on the rotation. I need to dig up some ones I learned in the past few years and make sure they don't fall completely off: Around the Horn, Caribou Reel, Spotted Pony, Catharsis. So many tunes, so little time....

Favorite Guitars: At home, I play my '57 0-18, it's a sweet little thing and a good couch guitar. With others, I play a 1994 "special edition" Martin Marquis, it's basically an HD-38 with a large sound hole. But I took the big ugly engraved tuners offn it and replaced with ebony ones.

nice to see you here! (you gave me a private lesson at kamp in that little lounge in thaw hall. i had the mac with the irritating metronome clicking on my recording program.) your tips and thoughts on crosspicking have come in quite handy. i gave myself a project over the summer: 1) go through the bluegrass album band volumes i own, 2) pick out songs that i think lend themselves to guitar breaks well, and 3) make three different solos to each one, including a crosspicking break where i think it feels right. it's been a lot of fun!
