Hi friends, I've been gone a long time from the network, but looks like I'll be able to play more nowadays. I had the most fabulous week of instruction in my life when I took Russ Barenberg's Advanced Guitar class at Augusta back in August. He got me unstuck - now I know how to impove. Russ does skype lessons now - I'd encourage you to take advantage.
This past year I started pickin' with a new friend, Eugene Ellis from Mebane NC. Fabulous player. I've posted a few very rough recordings (Red Haired Boy and 8 more miles to Louisville) we made while just fooling around. We're accompanied by Darl Pothoven on bass and vocals.
Also, I completed a labor of love by making some family recordings to give to my mother on her birthday this past February. Sadly, she has frontal temporal dementia and music seems to be one of her last refuges. I've posted "What a friend we have in Jesus" with my daughter Bethany singing for her Grandmom. Made the recording using my H2 recorder as a mic and basic editing with Audacity. Didn't really know what I was doing, but Mom loved it.
Grace and peace to you all
