Greg Morton has been a star on the bluegrass and jazz guitar scenes since the 70s. He and his twin brother, Randal, are hands down my favorite players, both for the immense talents they've so fully developed, and for their kind and generous natures.
Back in September 2004 Greg recorded a CD in three evenings sitting at his kitchen table. Solo Guitar is as fine a display of musicality by a guitarist as you're likely to find. Lots of standards and most recorded with just a rhythm track, it shows off Greg's beautiful, intricate, and cross-picking intensive style.
You can listen to short clips of all the tunes on Greg's web page. They don't actually do the songs justice, though, because they're taken from the beginnings, and the tunes build in intensity from start to finish. All 14 tracks will leave you amazed and hitting the replay button time and again. It's guaranteed to keep even the accomplished flatpicker busy learning licks for a good-long time.
Greg is a great guy and fantastic guitarist. If you need a little inspiration, or just want to add something beautiful to your life, order Solo Guitar. It'll provide you with years of enjoyment, not to mention a lifetime of ideas for your playing. It's just that good.
