Thanks Robert. Yeah, the McGraw gig pays the bills and has been a great thing. I am out right now with my old buddy Frank Ray and his bluegrass group Cedar Hill. Serious traditional grass.:-) Good to be giving the '46 'bone' a workout. Frank is a vintage guitar guy and has a bunch of old D 18s and bones, btw. Take care and I hope to cross paths sometime and pick.
Hey Robert! Good to hear from you. Man we are really looking forward to you and that Mandolin guy your bring out to Winfield with you! It's hard to believe how fast September is getting here.
Hope we can meet up sometime this year. Holler at me about you and that hotshot mando player coming to the Palace. I am touring Slovenia for the rest of the week so give me a chance to get back to business.
I've been listening to your "Pickin Up Steam", and "Watch Your Step" cds that I just received and I already had your "Back Home" with Steve as well as your "Swingin" cds. Love them all and I consider them a must have for any serious flatpicker's musical library. Keep up the great work! You are so clean and clear!
You're fantastic! I put one of your CDs on when I was trying to clean up the house today. Well, the house is still a mess! I just had to sit down and listen to every note! Your work is beautiful!!
Thanks Robert. Bob is the nicest guy and he called me several times while he was making it! I asked him to do the Tabacco Sunburst stain for me and he said he'd give it a try. It just turned out to be an amazing look. It looks like a sixty year old guitar. Everyone who sees it says she is just beautiful. And you know how it sounds! I feel like he did an excellent job on her and I am really proud to own one. By the way, he showed me your pick guard while I was up that way in December. Right pretty, it is!
Thanks Robert, that would be great. If you send in any form you have I'll work out a way to look at it. If you send as a Midi file I can open in Sibelius and adjust the timing. I know the song pretty well as it was given to me in the 50's by an uncle on a 78rpm record - Les Paul's version. How's that for coincidence? Pretty much got me started.
BTW you're not the eaiset buy to find - you're pretty much off the internet radar. And you joint website has gig dates from 2009 as the most recent.
Hi Robert, for many years I've been absorbed in your flatpicking. Please keep on flatpicking. Love all of your cds and the people you have chosen to play with. You play with such finesse, clarity and taste. You have the ability to make something plain sound pretty..example georgiana moon, bill bailey, little rock getaway...wow! The hair stands up on my arms. Don Larabie only told me the half of your talent. You have a gift from God always treasure and polish it.
