If you are listening, this sounds better through your headphones or a good pc speaker system. My living room has some serious reflections going on....:-)

Very pretty. What kinda strings are you using bro.?
Comment by Bob Minner on November 9, 2008 at 8:42am
The strings are Dunlop Phosphorus bronze 13's. I am using a Red Bear Classic heavy pick (clown barf color:-) ).

Wow! Thanks Bob! I just completed an arrangement myself last night, nothing close to this though. I plan to play in a contest. First I'll do it in G, the end the last time around in D. Hope you don't mind if I steal a lick or two.

Hey Bob,

Mind if I ask the nature of the scale used the third time around (starting at about 1:30). I can follow the melody and get the reference and how it relates -- ear-wise. Just wondering what it is you're doing to the melody there scale-wise.

John, to be honest, I have no idea.:-) I just play and it comes out. I wish I did know the technical aspects of theory better, as it would make me a batter player. But, if you can figure out what I'm doing, let me know! :-)

Thanks brother Dave (of the Red Bear faith! :-) ). Yeah, that old Gibson is so dry and resonant. And in amazing shape to boot. Not even a stap button, so it seems to have been a set down guitar in the past. I love it when old guitars survive time and wear that well.

The living room is the old cabin. It has a very 'Waltons' feel to it.:-) God has blessed us with it, and we are mighty thankful. All we gotta do is pay for it now...:-)
